| Can You Say Custom? With increasing fishing pressure each and every year, filling that bag for the weigh-in has become a challenge. I started making crank-baits to gain a competitive edge. As my craftsmanship skills have improved so has the demand for a premium hand made bait. Now I'm ready to help tournament anglers get that edge! My Custom crank-baits are hand made in the traditional way to produce the best fish catching action available. My competitors think it is OK to use premanufactured bodies and components purchased from Lure Component Companies. I do not, Every one of the components of my baits are manufactured in my shop by hand. Great attention is paid to detail and the tournament winning paint schemes provide the best opportunity for the angler to add crucial weight to his or her stringers. All baits are built to order one at a time and cannot be made at the snap of a finger, but are well worth the wait. All of my crank-baits are made out of hand selected A-1 quality balsa wood. The crank-bait lips are made out of an fiberglass industrial laminate used in manufacturing computer circuit boards and military vehicle gaskets. Each lip consists of layers of a substrate (fiberglass) which is impregnated, or coated with a thermosetting resin. The resin, or binder, is like a "glue" which, when both heat and pressure are added to the base material, forms a sheet. The lips exhibit the perfect properties for cranking in heavy cover, very low moisture absorption, high mechanical strength, and dimensional stability. These lips will not break or shatter when fished in heavy cover and have a higher deflection rate than a bait made with a polycarbonate lip. The wire used for the line tie and hook hangers is .040 high quality Stainless steel guaranteed not to rust or corrode. The tough crystal clear epoxy finish on my baits has been scientifically formulated specifically for me by a chemical engineer who has worked in the industry for over 25 years. All of my baits come equipped VMC Lazer Sharp Short Shank Treble Hooks. The short shank hooks eliminate tangling, ruining that perfect cast. ...Searching for that fish of a lifetime... NOMAD LURES |
